DUNN – Henry W. Armstrong, Jr., 87, of High Point, formerly of the Plain View Community of Dunn, died Saturday evening at Triad Care & Rehab Center in High Point. He was born in Edgecomb County to the late Henry W. and Vera Taylor Armstrong. He was predeceased by his wife Lucille Tunstall Armstrong, and a grandson Paul Young.

Rev. Armstrong was a minister for more than 50 years, serving at Lee's Chapel OFWB Church for 18 years and retiring from Pleasant Hill OFWB Church in Pikesville before returning to the Plain View Community in 1990.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Lee's Chapel OFWB Church with Rev. Ricky Warren and Rev. Phillip Boykin officiating. Burial will follow in the Williford Cemetery.

Surviving are his daughter, Dianne Young and husband Tommy of Dunn, sons; Keith Armstrong and wife Dianne of High Point, Jerry Armstrong and wife Lillian of Chocowinity, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lee's Chapel OFWB Church and other times at the home of Diane and Tommy Young.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
