The son of William Carroll Phillips and Martha Ellen Reed Phillips. Married 4 Sept. 1884 in TX to Lila Sloss Baird. I've been asked to add that John Thomas Phillips was a Church of Christ Preacher.....my recollection from what my parents told me is that in those years most of the Churches of Christ didn't have a regular preacher...they called on members of the congregation to fill that role on a rotating basis. But, it is true that he fulfilled that role often, but probably was not a full-time preacher. I hope someone will correct me if that is not true.

Children: William Carroll (1885-unk), Martha Ellen (1886-cir 1912), John Thomas Wesley (1888-1986), Joseph Edgar (1890-1911), Lila Bell (1892-bef. 1904), Carrie May (1894-bef. 1904), Winnie (1896-1943), Wendell (1898-1983), Emma Leta (1900-bef. 1904), Noah Daniel (1902-unk), Amos (1903-1957), Mary (1906-1993), Paul (1908-1986), Silas (1910-unk), Sarah (1911-unk), Timothy (1912-1977).

Spouse: Lila Sloss Baird (1869-1961), married September 4th, 1884, at Texas – eight daughters (Martha, Nina, Lila, Carrie, Winnie, Emma, Mary, Sarah) and nine sons (William, John, Joseph, Wendell, Noah, Amos, Paul, Silas, Timothy)

Father: William Carroll Phillips (1826-1899)

Mother: Martha Ellen Reed (1826-1875)

Occupation: minister/preacher for churches of Christ.
