Robert E. Prasch- Operating the Prasch Funeral Home, Robert E. Prasch has distinguished himself in the business life of Hammonton and is widely known and respected in this region of New Jersey.
Mr. Prasch was born February 8, 1899 in Hammonton, New Jersey, son of John and Cora (Emery) Prasch. His father, born September 22, 1875 in Egg Harbor, established the funeral home that the younger Mr. Prasch now conducts, and was for years engaged in this business until his death, May 32, 1942. The mother, Mrs. Cora (Emery) Prasch, was born, March 9, 1875, and died January 12, 1913.
Public schools of Hammonton provided Robert E. Prasch's early formal education, and he was graduated from high school in 1916. His September 1918 Draft Registration Card indicates that he is 19 years old and is a clerk at Atlantic Loading Company at Amatol, NJ. He then became a student at the Eckels School of Embalming, in Philadelphia, where he graduated in 1922. After completing his studies there, he joined his father in the management of the Prasch Funeral Home, in Hammonton, which the elder man had established in 1896. The father headed the business until his death, May 31, 1942. Robert E Prasch has been active in the firm since 1918, becoming a full partner in 1923. He now operates the funeral home in his own right, and he has done everything to improve its facilities and introduce every new convenience.
Along with his work in this connection, Mr. Prasch is active in the general affairs of the Hammonton community. Politically he follows an independent course, and he has interested himself in the activities of different organizations. Formerly he was vice-president of the Hammonton Board of Health. He belongs to the Kiwanis Club, the Artisans, the Loyal Order of Moose and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He is affiliated with the Atlantic County Funeral Directors' Association.
He is a Protestant in his religious faith.
On January 26, 1932, he married Miriam Eilenberger and they became parents of a son, Robert E. Prasch, Jr. born October 9, 1935, in Boston, Massachusetts.
