The funeral services over the remains of the late Mrs. Durham Harris will be held at the Presbyterian church at Bardolph Friday at 2:30 o'clock, with interment at Bardolph. The services will be conducted by Rev. Dye, assisted by Reb. D. G. DuBoise. The remains are being held, awaiting the arrival of the son, Henry, from California. Her age was 74 years, 5 months and 23 days.
She was stricken with apoplexy about 5:30 p. m. on Saturday, May 25, and from that hour until death did not regain consciousness. Five children, Eva J. of Bardolph, Mrs. J. W. Archer of Bardolph, Blanche and B. S. Harris of Bushnell and Henry J. of Moneta, Cal., survive her, the first four being at her bedside at the time of her death. She has one brother and two sisters living, Dr. E. K. Westfall of Bushnell, Mrs. Joseph Otterman of Adel, Ia., and Mrs. George Cogswell of Friend, Neb.
With her parents she came from Thorntown, Ind., to Macomb in June, 1854, and shortly afterward moved to a farm near Bardolph, in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood, where she was married to Durham C. Harris March 11, 1856. Shortly after this they purchased the farm now owned by Daniel Fullmer, where they resided until March 14, 1893, when they moved to the present home, where the husband died June 11 of the same year. She was united with the Presbyterian church before leaving Thorntown and brought her letter from there to the church of the same denomination in this place.
