Elener May Ward, 81, of Kelso, died Dec. 15, 1994, in Longview. She was born Feb. 9, 1913 in Atoka, Okla., the daughter of Sherman and Stella (Baum) Settlemire. She was a homemaker and had lived in the area since 1947, coming from Oklahoma. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, fishing and spending time with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Jones of Longview and Alta Caulfield of Rainier; a son, Goldie Ward of Longview; a sister, Elverta Sorrell of Portland; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse J. Ward, in 1982; a son, Leroy Ward in 1982; a sister and two brothers. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park with Chaplain Lonnie Hamby officiating. Interment will be at Longview Memorial Park.
