GOODHUE, Minn.
Rosemary "Rosie" Von Ruden, 72, lost her long battle with cancer and passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010, in her home surrounded by friends and family.
Rosie was born Dec. 13, 1937, in Winona to Nicholas and Modesta (Borth) Lorang. Rosie was a 1956 graduate of Winona Senior High School.
She married Henry Von Ruden on May 7, 1960 and was later divorced.
Rosie was an avid golfer and longtime member of Westfield Golf Course, where she was club champion for seven years and was inducted into the hall of fame in 1984.
She was also city champion in Winona in 1967 and 1971. Rosie enjoyed playing cribbage and euchre with her friends.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Goodhue and former member of St. Stanislaus Kosta Catholic Church in Winona.
Survivors include her two children, Mary Jo Von Ruden of Goodhue, Minn. and David Von Ruden of Moose Lake, Minn.; granddaughter, Bre Ann Von Ruden of Goodhue, Minn.; and sisters by choice, Alayne Havener and Marge Moravec.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of Rosie's life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., on Saturday, July 31st, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel in Goodview, Minnesota.
The family kindly suggests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made in Rosie's memory at Westfield Country Club.
