JONES COUNTY – Robert Jerry Tidwell went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at the Church of God of Prophecy, Houston Road, with burial in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. The Rev. Clinton Fields and the Rev. Billy Adams will officiate.

Mr. Tidwell, son of the late Robert (Bob) and Idell Chaney Tidwell, was born in Adel, GA on October 18, 1946. He served in the U. S. Navy and was retired from the Jones County Public Works. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Libby Davis and brother-in-law, Charles (Bob) Amerson.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved with his whole heart.

Mr. Tidwell is survived by his wife of thirty years, Betty S. Tidwell; sons and daughters-in-law, Ken & Misty Mullis of Byron, Robert (Robbie) & Amy Tidwell of Macon and James & Boni Gibson of Milledgeville; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan & Wes Daniels of Macon, Betty Jean & Herman Mertens of Jones County and Laura & Tom Herzog; grandchildren, Crissy, Casey, Alicia, Josh, Ryan, Caleb, Matthew, Kyle, Kevin, Kolton, Austin, Brennan; great grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Brooklyn, Michael, Emma, Kylie and Andrew; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie & Flo Tidwell of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sisters-in-law, Earline & Roger Johnson of Jones County and Carrie Amerson of Riverview, FL and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family wants to extend their heartfelt love and gratitude to Dr. Keith Martin, his staff and all the doctors and nurses in the ICU and all other floors at the Coliseum Medical Center for the loving care over the past four and a half years that they gave to Mr. Tidwell and to his wife as well, during his illness. There are not enough words to express how we feel about each and every one of these people.
