In 1933, he started to collaborate with three other men also dedicated to unearthing Rochester's history. Together with Alexander Stewart, Herman Hetzler, and George B. Selden, he worked to make possible monuments in memory of Reverend Rene Menard, S. J.; Athasata, the Great Christian Mohawk Chief; and Father Claude Dablon; as well as the Dann Site and the Hennepen Chapel Monuments.
President and General Manager, Northwest Aluminum and Brass Foundry, which he and his father George A Hetzler purchased in 1932, and founded Hetzler Foundries. Inc. Herman G Hetzler also provided large support to the Diocese, had a large interest in the Genesee Valley local history and archaeological investigations.
