Suggested edit: Henry R. Bailey was murdered by John Janney on July 4th 1906 near the ferry landing at East Hannibal (Pike County Illinois). A quarrel between the two men ended in Henry Bailey's murder. Janney was sentenced to sixteen years at the Chester, Illinois penitentiary. At the time of his death, Henry Bailey was a tenant and farmer on the Alger's farm near Shepherd (Pike County Illinois). He enjoyed a good reputation among his neighbors. He left to mourn him his wife and five children.
