DR. O'CONNOR OF EDINA DIES
Edina, Mo., July 25. — Dr. L. J. O'Connor, 70, prominent Knox county dentist, died Wednesday morning at 9:30 in Grim-Smith hospital in Kirksville following a brief illness.
Funeral service will be held Friday morning at 10 in St. Joseph Catholic church with the Rev. Terrence [sic] Mullins officiating. Burial will be in the new Catholic cemetey here.
Surviving are the widow, one daughter, Mary Margaret, and a sister, Miss Margaret O'Connor.

Edina Dentist Died Yesteday Morning in Kirksville — was 70 Years Old — Burial Will Be Friday.

Dr. L. J. O'Connor, Edina dentist, died at 9:30 o'clock yesterday morning at the Grin-Smith Hospital in Kirksville. He was 70 years old, and had gone there only the week before for examination.
His illness had not been generally known, and it was not realized he was in a serious condition, and his death thus came unexpectedly, and to many.
Doctor O'Connor had practiced dentistry 35 years, 24 at Baring before coming to Edina and 11 years here since. He received his D. D. S. degree from the Western Dental College in Kansas City in 1911. At the beginning of his dental career he participated in the office of the late Dr. Ed S. Brown of Edina, and studied under him a year before going to dental college. He previously had attended Gem City Business College at Quincy.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles O'Connor he was born in Milwaukee, Wisc., June 27, 1876, but spent his errly life on the farm northeast of Edina with his parents. He married Miss Ivie Lou Mauck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Mauck, of Baring July 15, 1919. One daughter was born to this marriage, Miss Mary Margaret O'Connor, who survives with her mother. He also leaves a sister, Miss Margaret O'Connor, of Edina and a nephew, Buell O'Connor, of Tulsa, Okla., a son of his brother Charles O'Connor, who died Nov. 15, 1940. Two sisters, Miss Katherine and Miss Mamie O'Connor oreceded him in death. Orval Mauck of Carrollton, Mo., orphan brother of Mrs. O'Connor, made his home with them in Baring, and was here last week on a visit with another brother, Arnold Mauck, of Indianapolis Ind.
The funeral will be at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning, Friday, from St. Joseph's Church, with the Rev. Terence Mullins conducting the services. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
