The Piedmont Herald, Tuesday February 25, 1985-

Staff Sergeant James Frederick Duckworth, age 28, formerly of Westernport Maryland, was killed in Gander, Newfoundland on December 11, 1985.
He was the son of John Duckworth and June Wolfe Duckworth, McCoole Road, Westernport and was serving in the US Army prior to his death.
Besides his wife Shirley Bruchhauser Duckworth, Clarksville, Tennessee, he is survived by five brothers, John Thomas Jr.; Albert; and Harry E., all of Westernport, Kenneth R., Gayman, Oklahoma; Alton, Front Royal, Virginia; a sister Debbie Mangold, Keyser, West Virginia; two stepsons, Larry Costello and Roy Splicer, Clarksville, Tenn., two step daughters, Mrs. Debbie Flour and Miss Sherrie Costello, Clarksville.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, tomorrow, Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 am at the Boal Funeral Home. Interment will be at Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to the Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation, 60 Dyer Avenue, Collinsville Conn 06022.
Military rites will be accorded at the gravesite by an attachment from Fort Ritchie, Maryland. Brigadier General David Wilkie will be in attendance and will oversee the military assistants.
A memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:30 pm. Members of Victory Post 155, Westernport, and Kelly-Mansfield Post 52, Piedmont WV; Queens Point Post 6775 VFW, McCoole and Aubrey Robert Stewart Post 5957 VFW, Piedmont will conduct a memorial service and will also be in attendance for the funeral service.
Victory Post will serve a dinner following the burial for all the family members and military personnel at the post home in Westernport.
