Josephine B. Reed Adams, 86, of Glenville (Stewarts Creek Community), departed this life Saturday afternoon, July 7, 2007, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Born May 29, 1921, at Connings, Gilmer County, a daughter of the late Nathan Edward & Bessie Matheny Reed.
Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and a member of the Troy United Methodist Church.
On November 7, 1939, she was united in marriage to Denzel Adams, who preceded her in death July 21, 1992.
Surviving are one daughter and four sons: Jackie "Chick" Broome and husband Ed of Glenville; Edward "Bud" Adams and wife Connie of Weston; Bradley "Mick" Adams and wife Anita of New Concord, Ohio; Gary Adams and wife Jeanette of Cedarville; Jim Adams and wife Karen of New Concord, Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Adams of Weston.
Thirteen grandchildren survive : Doug and wife Carmen Adams; Vickie Lee and husband Mike Bombard; Jeffrey and wife Kelly Adams; John Adams; Shanda and husband Perry Burt; Melissa and husband Larry Murray; Tim and wife Kim Adams; Amy and husband Brian Criss; Todd Adams; Bridgett Adams; Nathan and wife April Adams; Josh and wife Chantelle Adams; and Whitney Adams.
Three stepgrandchildren survive: Susan and husband Keven Leslie; Doug Broome; Kenny and wife Pam Broome. Several great-grandchildren also survive.
Two sisters survive: Marguerite Roe of Michigan and Mary Jean Johnson of Arizona.
