Janette Alice Konecne, the daughter of Henry and Alice Fudge, was born in Knox County, Illinois, December 22, 1892, and passed away December 26, 1977, at Colonial Manor in Corning, Iowa, at the age of 85 years and 4 days. She came with her family to Iowa at the age of five years and lived her remaining years in and around Corning. She joined the Methodist Church at Ivyville when quite young, later becoming a member of the Corning Grace Baptist Church. On January 21, 1913, she was united in marriage to Ray Konecne at the Methodist parsonage in Corning. To this union four sons were born. Preceding her in death were her husband, Ray;her parents; one son, Orvalle; three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include her three sons, Joseph of Corning, Gilbert of Council Bluffs, and Dwane of Renwick, Iowa;four daughters-in-law; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mabel Keesler of Carl; two brothers, Albert Fudge of Corning and Clyde Fudge of Boulder, Colorado, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. With her courage and determination, her love of people and love of giving, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services were held at the Larkin-Roland Funeral Home in Corning, December 28 at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. Wilson Grismore. Interment was in Prairie Rose Cemetery. Music was provided by Donna Peckham, organist and Myron Kempton, vocalist. Pallbearers were Dennis, Steve, Curt and Mike Konecne, Reldon Konecne and Jim Spangler. Richard Harvey was an honorary pallbearer.
