OBITUARY-OROVILLE
Melvin R. Moseley
Masonic funeral rites for Melvin Robert Moseley, 53, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Sanford Funeral Home under the auspices of Oroville Lodge 103 Free and Accepted Masons.
Mr. Moseley, who lived at 162 Acacia Ave., died yesterday.
A native of Oroville, he was born July 2, 1913, and grew up in his family home at Bidwell Bar. His parents, the late Manton and Roberta Storts Moseley were also natives of Oroville.
He attended grammar school at Bidwell Bar and Thermalito and was graduated from Oroville Union High School. The family moved to Oroville proper in 1925.
Mr. Moseley was an ardent fisherman. He had been employed by Butte County Department of Public Works for 35 years and for the past 9 years had owned and operated Moseley's Blueprinting.
He was a member of Oroville Lodge 103 F. and A.M. and of Oroville Pyramid 19, Ancient Egyptian Order of Sciots.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Charlotte Moseley, same address; one daughter, Mrs. Maralyn A. Aldrich of Sacramento; one son, Mark Moseley of Sacramento; three brothers, Lewis C. Moseley, Howard M. Moseley and Perry G. Moseley, all of Oroville; two sisters, Mrs. Thelma A. Wixom and Mrs. Mildred R. Wixom both of Oroville; one grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family requests that donations in Mr. Moseley's memory be made to the scholarship fund of Oroville Soroptimist Club.
