His wife, Margaret, was a student at Southwestern when Mr. Heiskell married her in January 1937. They moved that year to Jackson, Tennessee, where he practiced law, and in 1940, went to Nashville where he served with the state attorney general's office. Following Mr. Heiskell's Navy duty in World War II, they returned to Memphis. He was the Shelby County attorney general from 1948 to 1955. He is a member of the law firm of Montedonico, Boone, Gilliland, Heiskell & Loch.
