On August 28, 2007, Lillian "Lillie" Ruth Boyte was released from this world into the arms of Jesus after a ten month courageous battle with Neuroblastoma. She is survived by her father and mother, Cory and Michelle Bordeaux Boyte; her sisters, Hannah Grace and Eva Hope of the home. Her paternal grandparents, Betty and Bert Ellis of Candler; her maternal grandparents, Dolphus H. Bordeaux and Hiram and Beverly Hilliard of Durham; two uncles and aunts, Larry and Tammy Smith of Rougemont and Brian and Laura Boyte of Weaverville; and four cousins, Hayden and Collin Smith of Rougemont and Justin and Lindsey Boyte of Weaverville. Preceding Lillie was her paternal grandfather, Joseph Boyte who was waiting at heaven's gate for her. Lillie was a bright and shining star that lit up a room. We will miss her smile and giggles. She was our angel on earth that gave us a lifetime of joy in only 3½ short years. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, August 31, at First Baptist Church, with Dr. David Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 30, at Salem Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Loneliest Road Campaign, 9962 Brook Road, Suite 617, Glen Allen, VA 23059, to win the fight against childhood cancer. In honor of Lillie's favorite color, we ask all that would wear pink! www.caringbridge.org/visit/lillieboyte.
