Milo Lyman Bennett (Yale 1811) was born in Sharon, Connecticut. He spent his first two years of college at Williams College. He studied law at the Litchfield Law School, and settled in Burlington, Vermont, where he was living at the time of his death. In 1839 he became an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the state, and retained that position for 20 years. He received the degree of LL. D. from Dartmouth College in 1851. Judge Bennett died on July 7, 1868, in Taunton, Massachusetts, while on a visit to his son.
