Frank Weeks was a Cattleman, Farmer & Grove Owner. Member of the Tampa Fire Dept. for 15 to 20 yrs advancing to the rank of Captain before his retirement. He was a reckless, rollicking youngster but a good fireman. He was Courageous and Intelligent. In his later years Frank suffered and was badly crippled by neuritus making it very difficult to walk. He managed an occasional ride on his beloved Spanish Mare when his cattle required his attention. He had at one time four cowboys that helped him on the ranch but said the goverement grabs them away from him for military service. Frank had impressive cattle distintly Brahmans with unusally long horns. Frank crossed then between Brahmans and Texas Longhorns. When Frank retired from the Fire dept he was employed by the late E.P. Taliaferro as a engineer at the Pioneer Phosphate plant at Marvinia. He had cattle on the open range in Polk Co but his ambition was to develop a great herd and to realize his dream he had to own his large tract of land so he selected Lithia area becoming the largest ranch in the county with cattle, two orange groves. He also marketed 2500 to 3000 gallons of syrup and selling quantities of cane at four cents for stalk. He said, I believe my cattle know and trust me. His cattle brand was a Swastika and first saw the emblem in the Old German club while a Tampa fireman.
