Richard O. Butt, 63 of Monrovia, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of 43 years to Brenda S. Calloway (married May 10, 1969).

Born December 26, 1948, in Olney, MD, he was the son of Margaret Estelle Butt of Ijamsville and the late Charles U. Butt, Sr.

Rick is survived by son Jimmy & wife Sarah; granddaughters Cheyenne, Emily, & Jayden; brother Charles, Jr. & wife Bonnie; brother William & wife Dianna; stepsisters, Ruth Darby & husband Tom; Joan Newberry & husband Joe; Betsy Carlin & husband John; stepbrothers Harry Butt & wife Carol; Kenny Butt & wife Robin; Ronnie Butt; Randy Frazier & wife Brenda. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.

Mr. Butt was a graduate of Richard Montgomery High School. He was an honorable U.S. Army Veteran that served in Vietnam. He was a dedicated employee for 35+ years of Montgomery County Public Schools. He was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He served as a member for over 25 years of the Potomac Izaak Walton League. He was a member of Boonsboro Bible Church.

Rick enjoyed playing golf, riding motorcycles, watching NASCAR, following the Minnesota Vikings, working outdoors, attending social events/gatherings with friends, and dancing with his beloved wife. Rick's life revolved around the love of family & friends. His most precious moments were spent with Brenda, Jimmy, many pets, and those darling granddaughters.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, April 19th (3-5PM) or (7-9PM) at Stauffer Funeral Home in Frederick. Services will be at the funeral home on Friday, April 20th at 11:00AM. Interment @ Monocacy Cemetery in Beallsville, MD.
