Edna Mae Lock, 101, of Arkansas City, KS died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at the South Central Kansas Medical Center. Graveside services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the Riverview Cemetery. Pastor Ron Cross will officiate. Friends may greet the family 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Edna was born December 7, 1910, to Charles E. and Middie F. (Denison) Lock in Arkansas City. She was reared and educated in the Arkansas City area attending the Oak Grove School.
Edna worked as a fire warden for Santa Fe at the round house in Richmond, CA for many years. In her early years Edna worked at an apple orchard. She also tended a weather station, and worked at Chestnut Tea Shop with her sister in law. Edna was known throughout Arkansas City for babysitting. She also enjoyed reading. Edna was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her brother Francis Lock of Oxford, KS.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Etta Davis, Goldie Graham, Marie Barton, Rena Murphy, Albert Lock, Cyrus Lock, Ralph Lock, Clarence Lock, Donald Lock, and Delbert Lock.
A memorial has been established with the Hospice Care of Kansas. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.rindt-erdman.com.
