While in Curtis, Bob began working for Stan Phillips at the Chevrolet dealership and eventually formed Brown Brothers Auto Service, working for many years with his close brother, Harold. Bob enjoyed golfing, cars, racing, NASCAR and the Big Red. He loved bowling at Frontier Lanes and was a dedicated MV Raiders fan, where he was often present at many practices and all games. Bob was a proud member of the Curtis VFD for more than 30 years during which he served as Fire Chief for 25 years including NE Fire Chief's Association President from 95-96. Following retirement from UPRR, Bob enjoyed working part time for Roth Motors, traveling with Jennie, and having coffee with his Arby's buddies. Bob's legacy will always be his kindness and friendly nature to all he met, but most of all the love and loyalty he possessed for his family and grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jennifer; sons & spouses Rodney & Carrie, North Platte; Curtiss & Amy, Round Rock, TX.; son Regan, North Platte; daughter Mindy Jo, Cozad; 5 grandchildren, Hayley, Elizabeth, Leona, Caleb and Jameson; as well as many family and friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Kenneth & Leona Brown; brother, Harold Brown; and sister, Judy Moore.
