Funeral services for Mr. Shepherd will be conducted Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Brother James Effler and Brother J.D. Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the Gibsonville Cemetery in Giles County. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Robert and Lourainey Parrish Shepherd and husband of Ellen Crigger Shepherd. He was a retired mechanic from Doug Nash Transmissions and worked as a dairy farmer at Haynes Haven Farm at Spring Hill, TN and a member of the Highland Ave. Church of God.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Danny Ray (Gloria) Shepherd of Franklin, TN; two grandchildren, Amanda Shepherd and Dennis (Betsy) Shepherd both of Franklin, TN; three great-grandchildren, Luke Shepherd, Megan Shepherd and Sadie Jean Shepherd; a sister, Oma Hindman of Columbia; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Roberta Stewart Shepherd; a sister, Ora Kelley; four brothers, Jim, Ernest, Willie and Madison Shepherd.
