Mrs. Birdie Louise Thompson, 95, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday at the St. Joseph Home for the Aged. She was born Sept. 1, 1887 in Iberia, the daughter of John R. and Sarah Watkins Bond. She was married April 28, 1939, in Hot Springs, Ark. To William F. Thompson, who died May 10, 1958.
She was in the Army Nurse Corps during WWI. A graduate of the Washington University School of Nursing, she worked for a time in Auruba for Standard Oil. She worked at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Iberia. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services, under the direction of the Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home in Iberia, will be today at 10:30 a.m. at the Iberia Cemetery, the Rev. Randall Hoffman officiating.
