Charles Robert Clift, 60, died at 4:05 AM Saturday, Aug. 29, 1992, in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, shortly after arrival. Born Nov. 26, 1931, at Brazil, IN, he was a graduate of Brazil High School and had been a resident of Lafayette since 1954. He married Betty Louise Loft on Oct. 7, 1956, at Dayton, IN, and she survives.
Mr. Clift was a Lafayette Firefighter for 26 1/2 years before retiring. He was working for Brinks Security. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in West Lafayette, a past master of Masonic Lodge 123, and a member of Terre Haute Zorah Shrine. He was a veteran of the Navy.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Cheryl Diane Clift and Pamela Sue Clift, both at home; his mother, Ruth Frazier Overton of Lafayette; a half-brother, Ed Clift of Illinois; and a half-sister, Linda Gagle of Lafayette. Preceded in death by one brother.
