In July, 2006, a direct Moretine descendant of Mary's father Angelo John visited the village of Ponte di Legno, Brescia Province, Lombardy, Italy where Mary's siblings Joseph and Christopher were born. This direct descendant discovered that the surname on all the childrens' birth records at the Catholic church was Bulferetti, not Moretine. No one has discovered as yet the explanation of the name change between the time the family left Italy about 1888, and the time that they arrived in Johnson Co, Missouri by 1900.
