MERCEDES, TX. - Bonifacio R. Almanza, 83 of Oregon, OH passed away Thursday June 21, 2007 in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. Mr. Almanza was born in Mercedes, TX on June 5, 1924 to Narciso and Maria (Ruiz) Almanza. Bonifacio was a US Army veteran. He was employed as a construction worker through local #500 for 28 years and also worked for the Jeep Corporation before his retirement.
Surviving are his sons, Javier J. Almanza and Carl Duran; daughters, Carmela Vasquez, Delia Perales, Esther Almanza, Lydia (Donald) Cousino; companion Anita Duran; sisters Isabel Cantu, Micaela Cano, Juanita Perez, Maria Acosta, Rosa Almanza; grandchildren Angela and John Duran, Raquel Inman, Jessica Perales, Deanna Rose, Lisa Eucker, Joseph and Jacob Almanza, Stephanie and Gina Cousino and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lucio, Antonio and Narciso Almanza and sister Adela Almanza.
Visitation will be held Wednesday June 27th at Garcia & Trevino Funeral Home of Mercedes from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Principe De Paz Presbyterian Church in Mercedes; interment will follow at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Mercedes.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Garcia & Trevino Funeral Home of Mercedes.
