They owned and operated a dairy farm in Lawrenceville for 22 years, retiring from farming in 1973. Mr. Compeau also was a truck driver for Ed McGraw and Fred Groebler.
He was a member of American Legion Post 514, Winthrop, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, North Lawrence, and was a charter member of Lawrenceville Fire Department.
Surviving was a sister, Mrs. Leo (Mabel) Amyotte, Pulaski.
Seven brothers, Ethan, Justin, Leo, David, Joseph Jr., Julius and Harold, and four sisters, Pauline Francis, Mildred LaClair and Mary and Grace Compeau, died before him.
