Daniel L. Dixon, 44, died Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born August 3, 1966 in Alton, he was the son of Orville John and Nancy (Greenwell) Dixon.

He was a member of the New Hope Family Church in East Alton and had worked as a cook at several area restaurants over the years.

Surviving is a daughter Nicole D. Dixon of Carlinville, a son, Daniel J. Dixon of Carlinville, and step-daughter, Sarah Winston of Carlinville, three brothers, John Dixon and his wife Stephani, Billy Dixon and his partner Kitty Davis, and Terry Dixon all of Alton, three sisters, Deann Smith, Mary Edelin and her husband Bud, and Paula Larver all of Alton, several nieces and nephews, and his former wife, Deanne Berry of Carlinville. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Conerstone Assembly of God Church in Bethalto. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton. Pastor Rick Hayes will officiate.
