Mr. Steele worked at Indiana Ribbon from 1989 until retiring due to poor health. He also was a railroad patrolman for Indiana Harbor Bell Railroad for several years. He formerly had worked for Youngstown Sheet & Tube as a security guard and for Sealy Posturpedic. He had also worked various jobs in maintenance and had been a certified locksmith since 1985. He was a member of Monticello Moose Lodge 690.
Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Ann Jehon of Oklahoma; two stepsons, Anthony (wife Lisa) Reel of Wolcott and Larry (wife Julie) Reel of Brookston; his father and stepmother, Glenda Steele, who live in Illinois; and two granddaughters. Jerry would like to thank the people of Wolcott for all their concerns, prayers and acceptance since moving there in 1989.
