Mr. Barbee's Brother Succumbs to Injury
Alpheus W. (Whit) Barbee, a brother of L. L. Barbee, of this city died at his home near Greensboro last Saturday night and was buried at Guilford College Monday. Funeral services were held at Friends church of which he was a member, by Rev. Joseph Peele.
Mr. Barbee, a native of Guilford county, was injured while repairing a garage at Sedgefield last March 12 and never recovered from that injury. He was 61 years of age.
Twenty-two years ago he was married and is survived by his wife, one daughter, Gertrude, one step-daughter, Mrs. Isa Thomas, and an adopted daughter, Rosemary Barbee. Besides his brother, L. L. Barbee, here he is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. R. W. Winehester, of Summerfield, and Mrs. H. B. Taylor, Winston-Salem.
