Peter Gresholdt, 70, of 919 N. 14th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient the last week.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, the Rev. Vernon Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Gresholdt was born Feb. 21, 1892, at Prosgrund, Norway, son of the late Harry and Kristine Johnson Gresholdt, and came to the U.S. with his parents when he was four years old. The settled at Manitowoc, where he attended the public schools. He married Rose Grall June 11, 1919, at Manitowoc.
He was employed at Mirro Aluminum Co., retiring in March, 1959, after 24 years of service with this firm. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and its choir for the last 30 years. He was also a member of the Men's Club of the church and a charter member of Barbershoppers Chapter for 16 years, Mirro Aluminum Retired Club and Manitowoc Aerie 706 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors include his wife, a sister, Mrs. A.C. Raether of Manitowoc; a brother, Harold of Lincolnwood, Ill.; and a nephew, John Raether of Manitowoc. A sister and brother also preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 3 pm. Friday at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, where memorial services will be 9 p.m. Friday by First Lutheran Church Men's Club. At 11 a.m. Saturday the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
