Mr. Rogers passed away Sunday morning, May 8 at the Forrest General Hospital, where he had been a patient ten days.
A native and life long resident of Covington County, he was born October 31, 1911, a son of the late Wilmer Ira Rogers and Maude Reddoch Rogers. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and was retired.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lucy Graves Rogers, a daughter, Mattie Lou Rogers, both of Collins; two sons, John Ira Rogers of Jackson and James Preston Rogers Jr of Collins, five grandsons and one granddaughter. He was also survived by one sister, Mrs. Clifton (Roenoke) Keys of Collins and a brother, Carlos Rogers of Port Richey, Florida.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Maudie Rogers Blackwell.
