Mrs. Bessie A. Benedict, 78, of Overland Park died yesterday at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. She was a sister of Ellery Burdick of Nortonville.
Funeral services will be held at the Seventh Day Baptist Church at 3 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in the Nortonville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Earl Stillman, O. N. Kenyon, T. C. Whitaker, E. R. Clinkenbeard, Earl Stephan, and Jess Van Horn. The casket will be removed from the Warren Funeral Home to the church at 2 p.m. tomorrow.
Mrs. Benedict had lived in Overland Park for many years and previously in Shawnee and Lawrence. Her husband, Roy Benedict, died in 1953.
She was born at Shinglehouse, Pa., March 27, 1880, a daughter of Emmet and Ida Greene Burdick, and had lived in Kansas most of her life. She leaves a number of relatives in the Nortonville area, where she also had many friends, having visited frequently at her brother's home.
