Son of Isaac and Frances M. Swift Jeffreys of Alamance Co. Husband of Priscilla Franklin Lee Jeffreys. Confederate veteran of the Civil War. In the 1880 census, he lived in Oak Ridge, NC, and was a farmer. The following children were living with the family at the time: Rufus-20, Marcellus-18, Seymour-14, Beula-11, Anna-9, Ellen-7, Callie-4, and Claudia-2. John Ruffin Jeffreys was also a son. (Note: There was also a Newton Jeffreys living in Michigan in the 1930 census who was born in NC. Could he be related???)
