He was the son of John T. and Mary M. Harper.

On February 16, 1896 he married Nora Macy.

Harper County was named for him.

O. G. Harper, 43 years old, of 114 East Ninth Street, former member of the State Board of Agriculture, and after whom Harper County of this state was named, died yesterday morning.

He had been ill for several weeks, following an operation.

Mr. Harper was widely known in early Oklahma politics, but lately has been interested in oil development work.

He was a member of Siloam Lodge No. 276, A.F. and A.M. McAlester Consistory and India Temple Shrine.

The body will be taken to Buffalo, Oklahoma for burial today.

The following citizen of Laverne attended the O. G. Harper funeral at Buffalo on Monday: O. L. Calloway, W. B. Cornell, M. M. Morrison and wife, Robert Newberry, Guy Williams, and C. H. North.
