Hazel L. Engel, 92, of Ackley, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, January 26, at Ackley Presbyterian Village from complications of a stroke

She was born June 27, 1906, in Cedar Falls, daughter of William W. and Anna K. Hammerand Livingston. She married Henry R. Engel on June 27, 1934 in Nashua. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Engel worked as the deputy county superintendent of schools in Butler County, Iowa and had worked at Pfeiffer Company, Cedar Falls for many years.

Survived by: a son, Jack of Marion; a daughter,Jean Engel of Stoughton, Wisconsin and two sisters, Mamie Westlic of Denver and Evelyn Thiel of Golden Valley, Minnesota.

Preceded in death by three brothers, John, Humbert and Aden "Bite" Livingston; and a sister, Ruth Casey.

Church directed memorial services 1:30 pm Saturday at First Christian Church. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family.
