Florice was born to the union of Nancy and Emmett Sutton.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age in Jackson, Mississippi and continued her spiritual life in Chicago, Ill.
In 1951, Florice married Joe Gaines and to this union, (2) sons, Larry and Ray were born.
Ms. Sutton has been employed by the Chicago Banking System for years. She attended the Academy of Cosmetology receiving her certificate (Jan.1990). She also received her Certified Nurse's Aid (CNA) Certificate in Feb.1994.
For many years, she was active in community affairs as a Voters Registrar.
For her excellent work, she received many awards.
Before her illiness, Florice's personal goal was to daily touch someone's life in a positive way by always giving both economically and spiritually.
God knew she was tired, weary and worn. Monday night,June 14, the Savior took her by the hand and led her home. "Come my child and take your rest, come away from this world of woe, no more pain and sorrow will you know. Come now with me to the land of rest, that is for those who have been blessed."
Left to cherish her memory and to celebrate her inspirational life are: (2) sons, Larry and Ray (Rose); two grandchildren, Sean and Keith; one sister, Helen Gates; two nephews, Derrell (Joanne) and King; (1) Godsister, Jackie Carter; (2) Aunts, Annie Pearl Strange of Galesburg, Ill. and Vera Terrell of Miami, Florida; (1) uncle, Johnny Sutton of Jackson, Mississippi; and a host of other relatives,cousins, dear friends and neighbors; and a very loyal friend, Loraine White.
