RIVERSIDE
Mrs. Laura Hirt, 85, of rural Riverside, died at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City this morning following a short illness.
Services will be Monday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
Mrs. Hirt was born Jan. 26, 1885, in Johnson County, daughter of Edward and Rosetta Feldman Hartman. He was married to Robert Hirt on Dec. 3, 1902, at Hills. They farmed near Hills on the Hirt homestead.
Surviving are three sons, Stanley of Hills, Gerald of Phoenix, Ariz., and Russell of Iowa City; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Gladys) Phelps of Birmingham, Mich., Mrs. Ross (Ruby) Armstrong of Chadron, Neb., and Mrs. Walter (Eileen) Alder of Elyria, Ohio; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Stella Crew of Diagonal and Mrs. Leland (Edna) McMath of Clearfield. Preceding her in death were her husband, a son and two sisters.
