The son of Nathan Derby & Susanna (Hastings) Barker. Killed at the Battle of Shiloh.

He served with Co. G, 14th Wisconsin Regiment.

It appears his remains were not recovered, but a newspaper article ca 1912 stated that his name would be inscribed on a tablet at Shiloh.
