George Henry PARKS was born on 17 Apr 1914 to Alonzo PARKS & Nora Lucinda THOMAS Parks. He was the sixth of eight children born to the couple, Nora had a total of 14. George was raised in his step-fathers home and also in at least one foster home.

He was a Private in WWII.

George married Reva Mae ROBBINS on 17 Aug 1942 and that marriage yielded one child, Sharlott Maree PARKS. George & Reva divorced in 1947.

For twenty years George remained a bachelor. While working at Modoc Lumber he befriended Edward Meyer, the two became the best of friends. Later Edward divorced his wife Donna and George married her! The three remained friends and even visited the grandchildren together. George and Donna wed on 20 Jun 1967 & 19 Nov 1968. Donna & George were happily married till her death in 1985. Donna was the love of George's life.

George was a hard working man who believed you should never be idle. He loved gardening and chopping wood. His back acre was filled with wood that he had chopped, which had really become a hobby of his. At one time he probably had more than 50 cords of wood and boy was he proud of it!

George was survived by his estranged daughter, Sharlott, his step daughter Judy Bond, of Eugene, Oregon, step son Bob Smith, of California, four grandchildren and his siblings: Cecil and Donald Parks.

George Henry Parks, 82, died June 21, 1996.

He was born in Los Angeles to Alonzo and Nora Parks.

He served four years in the Army during World War II. Prior to that he served in the National Guard and the Civilian Conservation Corps.

He moved to Klamath Falls in about 1946 and worked for Puckett & Shearer in the logging industry. He also had several other jobs.

His last employer was Modoc Lumber Co., where he worked for 30 years until retiring in 1982.

Survivors include his brother, Donald Parks; two step-children; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Parks was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, his parents, seven sisters and five brothers.

Cremation was held.
