Alma Lourine Bailey, 90, of LaVale, Md., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010.

Born July 12, 1920, in Ravenswood, W.Va., Mrs. Bailey was the daughter of the late Jesse Alvin Sayre and Elsie Mae (Rardin) Sayre.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel F. Bailey, Sr.; a brother, Alvin Sayre; and a sister, Betty Rader.

A homemaker, Alma was a member of the Grafton Blueville United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her sons, Samuel F. Bailey, Jr., and his wife, Donna, Carpendale, W.Va.; and John W. Bailey and his wife, Pam, Cumberland, Md.; her sisters, Maxine Rader and Thelma Linton, Coolville, Ohio; her brother-in-law, Marshall E. Rader, Parkersburg; her grandchildren, Kecia Southerly and her husband, Todd, Short Gap, W.Va.; J.W. Bailey, Jr., and his wife, Janice, Cumberland, Md.; Kevin Coakley and his wife, Rhonda, Goldsboro, N.C.; Vicki Hoover and her husband, Rick, LaVale, Md.; Karlyn Love and her husband, Brian; and Keri Whitacre and her husband, Seth, all of Short Gap; her great-grandchildren, Britley Wagoner, Shane Bailey, Evan Bailey, Miller Coakley, Rainee Coakley, Grant Hoover, Clay Hoover, Corey Shepherd, Codey Shepherd, Zack Whitacre, and Brady Whitacre; and one great-great-grandson, Gage Swain.

Friends will be received at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, State Route #95W, Parkersburg, W.Va., on Friday, Sept. 3, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

A graveside service will be conducted at Sunset Memory Gardens on Friday, at 1 p.m., with Joseph Rader officiating.

The Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, Md., is in charge of the local arrangements.
