GLADSTONE - Paul C. Larson, 51, of Gladstone, formerly of Escanaba, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette. Paul was born Sept. 8, 1960, in Escanaba to Clifford and Shirley (Hathaway) Larson. Paul grew up in Wells and lived all his life in Delta County. He was a 1979 graduate of the Escanaba Area Public High School. He was employed as a route salesman with Schwan's, where he served the areas of Manistique and Munising.

Paul was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church in Gladstone, a member of the U.P. Whitetails, and a former member and past president of the U.P. Stump Jumpers four-wheel drive club.

Paul enjoyed spending time with his children and watching them in their various school and extracurricular activities. He loved being outdoors, working on cars, and spending time with his dog, Sadie.

Paul was an avid football and NASCAR fan, and enjoyed spending his Sundays cheering for his ("his" because he was a stock holder) Green Bay Packers, Dale Earnhardt Sr. and later for Dale Jr.

Paul is survived by his children, sons Jordan and Jared, and daughter Jenna, all of Escanaba; sisters, Bonnie (Oliver) LaPalm of Appleton, Wis., Chris (Jim) Anderson of Appleton, Wis., and Carole (Jeff) Hiney of Detour Village, Mich.; as well as many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Shirley Larson; paternal grandparents, Jennie and Ed Larson; maternal grandparents, Henry and Levida Hathaway; aunt Irene Josephson, and uncle Ragner Josephson.

The family will receive visitors from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Gladstone.

Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at the First Lutheran Church in Gladstone with Pastor Jonathan Schmidt officiating. Burial will take place in the Fernwood Cemetery.
