Candace Ann Robinson, age 60 of Elwood, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family following a very extended illness. She was born July 30, 1951 in Elwood, the daughter of Melvin Robinson and Carol (Southern) Marshall. She worked as a Registered Nurse from 1987 to 2007 at both St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood and St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel. She was a 1969 graduate of Frankton High School and later attended Indiana University in Kokomo where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in nursing. She was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church in Elwood, and loved spending time with her family – especially her nieces and nephews. She was an avid fan of Star Wars and both the Styxx and Kansas bands. She also enjoyed beading and painting.
Survivors include her mother, Carol (Southern) Marshall of Elwood; father, Melvin Robinson of Anderson; brother, Tom (Betsy) Marshall of Jamestown; 2 nephews, Tom Marshall, Jr. and Tony Marshall both of Elwood; niece, Sarah Marshall of Elwood; 2 great-nieces, Audrey Gettinger and Madelyn Marshall both of Elwood; and great-nephew, Augustus Marshall of Elwood.
Candace was preceded in death by her step-father, Thomas Marshall.
The family has requested services to be held at a later date with Rev. Steven Southern officiating. Burial will take place in the Elwood City Cemetery in Elwood. There will be no visitation.
