Linda D. Simone Ackerson, age 56, of Arma, Ks., passed away at 6:44 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2003, at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg, Ks.
She was born July 12, 1947, at Pittsburg, Kansas, to Mike and Betty McNeil Simone. She was raised in California and graduated from Carson, California High School. She moved to Arma in 1998.
She married Arthur Ackerson, on May 30, 1970 at Carson, California. He survives of the home.
Mrs. Ackerson was an activities director in social services. She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy Church of Pittsburg, the Arma Eagles Auxiliary, and Lon Helm Post 182 American Legion Auxiliary of Arma.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Michell Gonzalas of Bloomfield, N.M., and Debbie Ackerson of Arma. Two sons, Kerry Ackerson and Terry Ackerson, both of Tucson, Ariz. One brother, Joe Simone of Santa Monica, California, One sister, Mickey Bono of Seal Beach, California, and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, October 31, at Bedene Funeral Home at Arma with the Rev. Jennifer Brashear officiating. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Pittsburg. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Bedene Chapel at Arma. Arrangements are under the direction of Bedene Funeral Home, Arma, Kansas.
