Funeral services for Minnie Malisse Turner Neeles, age 96 of Ruston will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Penuell and Rev. Dana Thrash officiating. Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Minnie was born on February 11, 1924 and passed away on October 17, 2020. She was a friend to everyone and when you came into her life you became family. Minnie helped so many people but never asked for help for herself. She worked tirelessly with her church in many areas and never missed a function.
Minnie enjoyed quilting and made many for family and friends. She did the “dying art” of Tat and always tated baby shoes for all new babies. Minnie also made lace for her quilts and wall hanging. She loved playing cards and dominos, especially Rook. Minnie normally won every game of Rook. Very few people ever bet her at dominos, she could count points faster than anyone. She played Rook and dominos almost up until her death. She was the hat lady, always had her hat on.
Minnie is preceded in death by husband of 50 years: Lloyd S. Neeles; son: Robert Ben Neeles; daughter: Claudia Neeles Youngblood; granddaughter: Baby girl Youngblood; father: Bill Turner; mother: Add Causey Turner; brothers: Claudie Turner, Billy Turner, Rhode Turner and sister in laws: Ruth Walsworth Turner, Winnie Anderson Turner.
Left to cherish her is son: Charles Neeles and wife Wanda; grandsons: Christopher Youngblood and wife Jennifer, Will Neeles, Tyler Neeles and wife Tara; granddaughter: Stephanie and husband Chad Presley; son in laws: Danny Youngblood and wife Corina, Doug Clark and wife Linda; sisters: Addie Turner Lynde, Bettye Turner Pate; brother: James P.
