ANDERSON - Mrs. Esther Anderson, 89, 210 S. Chicago Ave., died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 1977, in Americana Health Care Center, after a short illness. Born Jan. 17, 1888 in Carver, Minn., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Blomquist. Lived 58 years in Rockford, coming here from Minneapolis. Married to John A. Anderson in Carver, Minn., June 30, 1917; he died here July 19, 1942. Member of Zion Lutheran Church for 56 years; member of the church's Eunice Circle, Dorcas Society, the Bethpage Circle and Swedish Society, also Zion Senior Citizens. Survivors include three sons, Harris A., and John D., both of Rockford, and Gerald L., Bradford, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Nils (Ida) Larson, Rockford, Mrs. Paul (Anna) Erdman and Mrs. William (Alma) Manion, both of Minneapolis; a brother, Arthur Blomquist, Missoula, Mont.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, in Fred C. Olson Mortuary, 1001 2nd Ave.; with Rev. Marvin Johnson, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be sent to Bethpage Mission, Axtell, Neb., in care of Zion Lutheran Church.
