Joyce A. Murphy longtime Montesano resident passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Panorama Convalescent Center in Lacey , Washington. Joyce was born February 25, 1935 in Rapid City, South Dakota to George and Helen ( Steen ) Bies. She was a graduate of Montesano High School. On February 25, 1956 she married her husband William Murphy in the Methodist Church in Montesano. Joyce was also a member of the Central Park Baptist Church and the Fern Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed watching the Mariners Baseball games and gardening around her house. Joyce is survived by her daughters Sheri Haugan ( Norman) of Roy, WA and Jeri Rahm of Des Moines, WA, her brother Don Bies ( Delores) of Montesano, WA , and sister Shirley Daley of Shelton, WA, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Michael Murphy.
