Mrs. Kendall was a primary grade instructor -she taught in the Dayton City School system f or nearly thirty years, serving most of this tenure at Eastmont Park School.
Always active in First A.M.E. and later United A.M.E. Church, Florence held numerous offices, appointments and memberships on the Trustee, Usher and Steward Boards.
It was well known, however, that she readily assisted any church-related group, organization, endeavor or function.
Mrs. Kendall was a Past Matron of Eastern Star Chapter #2 and a Past Grand Deputy of Amaranth Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, for the State of Ohio. She was also a member of Miami Assembly #22, Order of the Golden Circle and Burning Bush Court #3, Heroines of Jericho.
