Anna was the daughter of Anders and Anna Pollack (Andrew and Anna Peterson). In 1906, she and her family traveled from Sweden to Liverpool to Boston to Ontario, where they homesteaded at Rainy River/Thunder Bay.
In 1913, while still living in Ontario, Anna married Casper Charles Paulson of Minnesota. Casper and Anna moved their family to the United States in 1917. Their children included Lillian, Carl, Agnes, Evelyn, Betty and Robert ("Larry").
Anna and Casper divorced. She later married Harry Schmidt. They divorced.
