Carol Marie McCann, BA, ME, 60 years old, Senn H.S. ('69), Beloit College (‘73}. Univ. of Arizona, Prescott ('77). Born: Nov 23, 1951, Chicago, IL - Died: March 13, 2012, Aurora, IL Resided in Chicago, Seabrook, NH, and San Diego, CA. Died of illnesses stemming from a stroke. Loving wife of Leon Renaud (deceased) of Lowell, MA. Daughter of William B. McCann, (deceased), and Ada R. McCann [nee Bender] (deceased). Sister of William B. (Bill) McCann, Jr. (deceased). Survived by her brother, Neil A. McCann, and his wife, Antonieta McCann. [nee Augusto].
Carol was a dedicated educator at the Rezin Orr High School, (CPS) an expert in the field of Special Education, and with EMH students. She then took a position at Roger C. Sullivan H.S. where she was instrumental in forming their Chess Club. She then taught at Exeter Middle School. (N H), where she met her husband, and briefly in the San Diego Public School System prior to returning to Chicago to work as a substitute teacher during her semi-retirement.
Carol was a member of the National Honor Society, and was a child prodigy in classical piano. She gave recitals as early as the age of 9 years old, but as an adult she studied harp and devoted time as a Certified Music Therapist while living in California.
